Dear Younger Self,

Dear Younger Self,

You deserved to be loved, and you deserved to be heard. Know that when you are dressing up, painting nails, trying to be more adult-like. Your future self is putting bows on her hair, looking at pictures of you, trying to be more childlike.

I can’t recall precisely when, but there came a moment when I gazed into the mirror and you were no longer reflected there; instead, I saw a woman staring back at me. She is the woman you envisioned becoming, the one you invested so much time in resembling.

I am everything you dreamed of being, yet you possess something I yearn for—your innocence. You have all the time you have to grow into who I am now, but I cannot. Nor do I have the ability to reclaim the essence of your youth. So, for the love of all things holy, just be yourself for once, be a child, be ignorant, and live life as it is. Because, with the blink of your pretty dark eyes, you suddenly see things in a different perspective, and you begin to wonder what went wrong, only to realize in the depth of your soul, there lies no flaws, but rather a radiant authenticity.

My dear child, you are an exceptionally talented young girl blessed with innate gifts from the Universe. You possess the ability to achieve anything you set your mind to and to excel in it.

Always remember and know that when you see your life as a fig tree, branching out in various directions, the Universe is watching over you, guiding you to your destined place, and that you are exactly where you are supposed to at right now.

With Love,

Your big sis <3
