Photo Contest

Editors Note

This year we received over 100 photo entries across the four categories from photographers all over campus. With such a wide variety of photographs from all subjects and techniques, it was  difficult to choose the winners. We at The Medium have been thoroughly impressed by the immense level of passion for and skill displayed in photography on campus. If we did not pick your submission, do not be discouraged. Keep taking photos and submit them to The Medium Photopop

The bright white Niagara SkyWheel stands illuminated against the black night sky. The night truly showcases the design and architecture involved in this structure.

CCIT iFrosh ’08 was the first time I took over 500 photos in a day and my shutter was  taking a beating. This particular photo volunteers spelled out “CCIT” on the ground with their bodies. I had trouble capturing the whole thing, so I ran to a higher level by the elevators to take the photo. It was an awesome photo day. CCIT (and non-CCIT) people are great to work with.

I hope to show others the beauty of sunsets at Georgian Bay through this photo. The lines on the rocks really intrigued me so I tried to base my composition around it. I really enjoy this photo because of the snow tipped mountains in the far background. It felt quite contrary to the heat one feels during the entire canoe trip there.

I like catching people in awkward but natural poses, but I also like comical and juxtapositional visualities. And old people.
